10 days….hopefully less….

Filed under: Baby Berry, General — mayzaboo @ 12:29 am

I had yet another appointment today, but with Dr. Edwards. Mackovic had an emergency, so I had to have an appointment with the other doctor. She’s very nice, so that’s a good thing. She may be the one to deliver the baby, so it’s good for me to know her. I would rather have Dr. Mackovic, but at that point, I may not care!
So the report from this doctor is: Baby is still around the -1 station, I’m still around 50% effaced, but the biggest change is that I’m a bit more than 1cm dialated! This is a very large improvement from last week, and could be the reason I’ve felt so aweful. The bad news, however was that the doctor anticipates me coming in for my next appointment on Tuesday of next week. (August 1) I was so hoping they would say it looked like I was ready to go this weekend, but I need to be more effaced for them to induce. The past 2 days I have felt really bad, and have just been sitting around wondering when all of this will be over. My stomach has basically ached for 2 days now, most of the time, and I have 0 energy. I’m having trouble sleeping because I’m in pain and just uncomfortable when it’s not actual pain. Plus it’s been quite warm. Thankfully we have good AC in here, but it still gets warm.
I’ve been taking walks every day since my last appointment and I am hoping to high heaven that something will come of that! I am just so ready to meet this little one, and so tired of feeling like I do! But the end is in sight. It’s hard for me to be positive today, but I know it will all be over- sometime, if not as soon as I want it to be…

Counting the days…

…until the baby is here!!! I can’t wait to be a mom instead of a pregnant lady! :) Last night I woke up around 1am, and absolutely couldn’t sleep, so Mike and I both got up and started fooling around on our computers. Eventually I moved on to pregnancy books and cross stitch. By about 5am, I was ready to try sleep again. We did end up falling asleep sometime after 5, and woke up around 9am. Fun times. Mike called in today, so he was able to help me out around the house a bit. I did a bit of cleaning- not much, but enough to make me feel somewhat accomplished. I dusted 1 corner of the living room, and cleaned part of the kitchen. I still have a section to go, but considering I hadn’t cleaned the kitchen in over a month (yikes!!) I felt pretty good about my progress. Speaking of progress, Jordan seems to be making progress downward still, which is a very good thing. I’ve managed to take a half hour walk or so every day since my Dr’s appointment, so I’m hoping that is doing something. My plan was 2 walks a day, but so far I’ve only done one. 2 of my walks I’ve taken with Mike which has been very nice. Just strolling the neighborhood together. I think that may be something we keep up after the baby comes- evening walks with the family. They are very relaxing. Today’s walk was mid-morning, right before lunch, so it was a bit hotter. I think tomorrow’s walk will have to be later in the evening, or earlier in the morning.
Most of our friends are out of town right now, and some of our family is, too, so we think that the baby has a good chance of coming soon, since a bunch of people will be hard to reach to let them know. Murphy’s law, you know. My mom is planning on coming down next week so that she’s here when I go into labor, hopefully. I’m hoping to do enough activity to make Jordan want to come on her own a bit early, so I won’t have to be induced, or at least the process will have already started, or something. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll get to do all the errands, and maybe a bit more cleaning. I want to finish cleaning the kitchen, and I hope to start on one of the bathroom’s tomorrow, too. I figure if I do a little each day the house won’t look quite so bad when the baby arrives!
I realize this post isn’t very interesting, but that’s really all that’s going on here. We’re just waiting for the baby to come, and hoping that she comes very very soon!!!

The countdown continues…

Today I had my 37 week appointment, and I’m just about 37 1/2 weeks along. Dr. says that everything looks great, and Jordan’s heart sounds good! She also let me know that I’m a little bit more than 50% effaced, and Jordan is low- she’s at the -1 station. So that pretty much means that part of me is about half way there, and Jordan’s head is almost at the “0″ mark (even with my pubic bone.) She also still said that if my body is ready at 39 weeks, we can go ahead and induce then! I’d be all for that, I think. The past 3 days have been very difficult for me. I have felt just yucky. Jordan is decending, which is putting tons of pressure on my lower abdomen, and there are bouts of sharp stabbing pain. Dr. says that’s her head ramming into my cervix. Fun, huh? But at least I know now that the pain is just Jordan getting more ready to come out! That’s exactly what I wanted to hear. I’ve been told to walk to help with the decending part, but I’m not totally sure how much I’ll be able to do. I walk pretty slow these days, and it is way hot to walk outside, but maybe I can walk in the morning before lunch, and before I get too tired. Then maybe I can come home and nap! So things are progressing, and the way I’m feeling this week I think I may very well want to induce at or very near 39 weeks. (July 28th) My next appointment is on July 25, so we shall see how ready my body is by then, and I could very well have a baby during that weekend! I’m so ready to be done! (And to sleep on my stomach again!!)

36 week appointment

Filed under: Baby Berry, General — mayzaboo @ 10:54 pm

Today we had our 36 week appointment, but I’m actually about 36 and a half weeks along. (I’ll officially be 37 on Friday) Dr. Makovic said that the baby’s ultrasound looked great, and according to the measurements, she was about the average for a 33 week along baby at 35 weeks of pregnancy, which she said is fine, because I’m not exactly average size myself! I was relieved that she’s not huge- I was a bit concerned, considering I was 9 lbs and a half ounce at birth, and was a few days after my due date (5, I think). I asked the Dr. about when they induce, or how long they will let you go past your date, and she said that if my body seems ready at 39, they can even induce then! But she said that definately at 40 weeks, they can induce. So at least now there is an end in sight. I mean, there was always one in sight, but now it’s just closer, and I know that I can request for them to speed up the process as early as 2 and a half weeks from now, so that makes me feel better. I’m not exactly miserable yet, but sleeping is proving to be difficult, as there is absolutely no position that is comfortable to me when laying down. I keep saying to Mike that I wish I could go put her in her crib or bassinet so I could lay down and not be so uncomfortable. I know that it’s not that long now, though, so that is an encouragement. The Dr. also said that I look very healthy as far as blood pressure, and all the other normal pregnancy tests that they run, so that’s encouraging. I’m just sleepy, and can’t lay down! :S

On another note, we did pick up the last pictures that we got framed for the baby’s room at Michael’s today, so we will get those hung up, and I’ll try to get a picture of those so everyone can see the finished product of the baby’s room! I can’t wait to have a baby to put in the room! (But I’m not so much looking forward to the whole labor/delivery part, but hey, at least I get a prize at the end!)

That’s about it from here. I’ll keep the updates coming!

Jordan’s Room!

Filed under: Baby Berry, General — mayzaboo @ 10:19 pm

The BBQ at the pool was very nice. We met a few more of the neighbors, but they don’t live very near us. After we came back from that, we got all the stuff up in Jordan’s Room! And I have pictures! Just click on the link, and you can check out her room! Fun, huh? The Winnie the Pooh pictures that are being framed at Michael’s will be put into the corner with the rocking chair and all the stuffed animals. But that’s the only thing left to put up in her room! Yeah! I finally feel like we can actually bring a child home, and we have a space just for her. :) Not much else going on here- enjoy the photos!

Happy 4th of July!

Mike has the day off today due to the holiday, so we will have time to get some stuff done in the baby’s room today. My goal is by the end of the day I will have pictures up of the nursery on the site! Complete with pictures on the walls! We have 3 pictures currently at Michael’s being framed, but other than those, we can get the walls looking nice! We have plans to go to the BBQ at the pool at our complex at noon, so that should be cool. Can’t beat free food! :) I really don’t have much to post about, but I will update, hopefully later today with photos of our progress!
Happy Independance Day!
