Halloween photos up!
Okay, I know Halloween is tomorrow, but we went to a costume party this past weekend, and I got the pictures up from that. Also got some pics of Pumpkin Carving Night:

So check them out!

I started this post yesterday, but never got a chance to finish it until today- so here it is- a day late!
Jordan is 12 weeks old today- where does the time go?
I drove to Long Beach this morning, and Jordan was weighed- She is 12 pounds, and 3 oz- right in the 50% percentile!
Yeah! I’ve been putting clothes away in the “too small” box the past couple of days. It’s kind of sad, but exciting to know that she’s growing so well. She’s almost completely out of anything “Newborn” sized. There are still a couple of onsies and pairs of pants that still fit, but she’s almost completely in 0-3 or 3 month clothes. She even has a few things in 3-6 that she can wear. They’re a bit big on her now, but she will be growing in to them quickly, I bet. Last night was “Pumpkin Carving Night”. One of our friends has an annual party to choose and carve pumpkins. We got some cute pictures at the pumpkin patch, however I don’t have any of the finished pumpkins yet. I’ll have to get them from the host of the party.
We’re heading to a costume party on Saturday that I’m sure will be much fun. I have to get my costume together, but Jordan has hers! I found out that we’re encouraged to wear costumes to Gymboree on Tuesday, too, so that will be fun. Not sure if I’m going to dress up, or just let Jordan dress up- we’ll see how my costume ends up looking.
I was going to be Spats (our cat) again, but the thought of wearing a leotard 12 weeks after giving birth is a bit scary, and I don’t like scary costumes! ![]()
I was reading in “What to Expect the First Year” today, and came up with the idea to write down what Jordan is doing these days!
At 12 weeks Jordan can:
There may be more accomplishments that I’m not remembering right now, but for now that’s her list! Some of the accomplishments may not seem like much, but compared to what she could do when we took her home from the hospital, it’s quite a change!
Now it’s Friday, and tomorrow is the big costume party which should be fun. I need to go make sure mine works! I haven’t tried all the pieces on together yet. It’s getting kind of late, and I’m pretty tired, so the uploading of photos will have to wait for another night. Oh- among accomplishments- today Jordan actually laughed when I showed her a toy at Babies R Us (which followed us home to make an appearance at Christmas!). It was a “heeheehee”- all 3 “hees”!! And it was adorable.
Jordan is 11 weeks old today, and we had grand fun at Gymboree today. She was really showing off, and rolled over 4 times during tummy time. Most of the other babies were sleeping, or face planting into the mirror on the floor, but not my Jordan! She was lifting her head up at a 90 degree angle, and rolling over! They kept asking me how old she is, and said that she’ll be walking at 6 months! Oh goodness, I hope not!! When she wasn’t rolling over, she was pulling with her hands, as if she was trying to crawl. Oh goodness- what are we in for now?!?! Today was Dylan’s last day in level one, so I got a couple pictures of him. He’s 5 1/2 months old. The criteria for moving on is sitting up on their own, and grabbing things intentionally. So here’s Dylan with the bubbles:

I got a couple pictures of Jordan at Gymboree, too.

There are a few other pictures that were taken today, too, at the end of the 11th week album.
EDIT:
I had a link to a movie, but for some reason it’s not uploading for me. I’ll work on it, and hopefully have something up soon!
Today Jordan and I went to a bridal shower for a friend of mine that I used to work with, Patti. Unfortunatly I didn’t get hardly any pictures!! I only took 2 during the shower! I’m bad. I got one of Patti, and it wasn’t a great shot, either.
The other one was this:

On Tuesday one of the other mothers at Gymboree gave me a picture of Jordan with Christopher during our “free time” at Gymboree:

Jordan’s latest development is she’s trying to laugh. I say trying because she hasn’t really gotten the hang of it yet, and it sounds more like a cough than actual laughter. But it is so cute! She’ll get this huge smile on her face, and then “cough” a couple times while wildly flailing her arms and legs. So cute. She started doing that when I was singing “I love you a bushel and a peck” from Guys and Dolls one morning. She seems to wake up in a good mood almost every time she wakes up, and I’m learning her “I’m tired” signals better now, so I can put her down for a nap when she looks like she needs one. She seems to need more naps than the books say she needs at this age, so I’m letting her be in charge of naps. Today she slept most of the day. I’m hoping she’s not sick, because she was a bit more fussy today than usual. She cried for 2 hours this morning, and wouldn’t even eat. She went a full 4 hours between morning feedings, which is very unusual.
She got a bath this evening, which she really likes. She told me she wanted to get out tonight by lifting up her feet out of the tub. It was really funny. Every day she seems to have new things that she does that just make me smile. It’s so much fun to see her grow. This week we have Gymboree on Tues and Thurs, like usual, but on Wed we’re heading to Disney for a bridal shower for one of my friends who’s getting married next weekend. Jordan gets to come backstage and see where Mommy used to work! I’m planning on cleaning out my desk, too. I never got a chance to since I went on maternity early, and ended up leaving before the end of May. I’m still emplyed by Disney, but on Family Care Leave, which will last until Dec. 11. Then I’m not sure yet if I’ll be dropping my status to Casual Temporary to work weekends only, or if I’ll be quitting. It would be sad to leave the company, but it may be time to move on. We’re still waiting to hear about a possible job for Mike in Denver, too. It’s crazy to have so much up in the air. Well, that’s all for now!
I’m uploading more pictures as I type, and they can be found under the Tenth Week album. Some were even taken this morning! How’s that for quick? ![]()
Jordan is now very good at sucking on her hand, and it is frequently in her mouth. She sometimes has a hard time controlling her hands, though, so she still takes the pacifier if she’s very upset. Unfortunately when she is very upset, she also has a tendancy to knock the pacifier out of her mouth. But a few nights running she hasn’t needed the pacifier to fall asleep! (Though tonight she has it… go figure.) She’s doing a good job of letting me know what routine works best for her, so I’m trying to come up with a slightly (and I mean very slightly) structured routine. There are no set times for anything yet, and I doubt that there ever will be, except a general set time-frame for naps, and a bedtime eventually. But so far, she seems to like to get up around 6:30-7ish, get a diaper change, eat, get another diaper change, have a little massage, then head into the living room for some play time in the swing. This is when I usually eat breakfast, then it’s either time to feed her again, or she has fallen asleep for her first morning nap. Then I get a shower if she’s asleep, and if not, then we play for a bit after she eats. Eventually she does take a morning nap that usually ranges from 45 min to an hour and a half. Then when she wakes up it’s another diaper change and another meal. Then more playtime, usually tummy time, sometimes a massage, and most likely more swing time. By this time I’m usually thinking lunch, so I’ll eat while she’s swinging, and then the early afternoon is spent playing mostly. Somewhere around 1-2ish I try to get her down for a long nap. Sometimes she sleeps for about 3 hours at this point, which I think is fantastic! She’s usually up around 4-5ish, and then it’s time for another diaper change, and another meal! After this meal she usually gets put back in the swing while we attempt dinner. I say attempt, because many a time we end up eating on the couch, so I can feed her and me at the same time. After I get dinner, I usually try to give her a bath. She’s loving bath time, and really seems to relax in the tub. She’s her mommy’s child that’s for sure! The past couple of nights I’ve tried to fit a massage after her bath, but she doesn’t stay “okay with it” for very long. I might try to massage before the bath, to see if she’ll tollerate it longer. Anyway, after her bath, it’s time for another feeding, and then off to bed. Most of the time she’ll fall asleep eating, then I have to wake her to get her in bed. I usually let her sleep in my lap for a little bit, and then take her to her bed around 9ish. (though tonight she wanted to be in bed earlier and was having a hard time staying asleep out here in the living room.) She’s been really fairly good about sleeping at night, though last night she was having a lot of stomach trouble, so we were awake most of the night. I was totally exhausted by morning, so we didn’t make it to church this week. Maybe next week. But when she’s not having tummy troubles she usually sleeps until around 2-something, then sometimes wants food, sometimes just needs a little tummy rub, or a diaper change, then is back asleep until around 4-5ish when she wants to eat again. She’s been starting off the night in her crib, then lately has come to our room in the bassinet next to my side of the bed once I get her out of her crib for either a feeding or a daiper change. She’s been staying in the bassinet until the 4-5ish feeding, then usually we both fall asleep, and wake up when it’s time for the next feeding, or if she’s having tummy issues. I will be so glad when her system regulates itself!
In other news, I purchased our plane tickets for Christmas! We’re all heading to Kentucky, as we do every year, and this will be Jordan’s first flight! She’ll be almost 5 months old when she flies. We didn’t purchase a seat for her, because I’d most likely be holding her the whole flight anyway. But anyway, we’re all flying together on Dec 22 (and we actually meet up with my Dad on the layover in Dallas) and Mike will stay until Jan 3, but since I’m not working, I’ll be staying until Jan 17! I get a long trip this time! That hasn’t happened since I was in grade school, so I thought I’d take advantage of it! I used to stay a month with my brother and Mom when we were younger, then as school breaks got shorter, we had to cut our trips shorter, then when I started working at Disney I’d only get 3 days off, until I got the Guest Talent job and was able to stay a week. Anyway, I’m so excited that I’ll get to spend more time there this year. Should be interesting with Jordan, since this will be our first time away from Mike, and away from home, but hopefully Jordan will be a trouper. I’m also glad that I get to stay longer this time because my sister in law is pregnant and due within the first couple weeks in January, so I’m hoping that I’ll get to be there to see the new baby! She’s due the 12th, I believe, so judging that this is her second child, I’m guessing she’ll have the baby before I leave. Well, this post is crazy long, so I’d better end it!! That’s the update from here!
I’ve been tagged by Nicole to tell 10 secrets… hmmm… do I have any secrets?
10. I like Kelly Clarkson
9. I have an obsession with forensic science/murder/law shows on TV (Bones, FBI Files, Cold Case Files, The First 48, American Justice, Law and Order, Justice, City Confidential)
8. I actually enjoy watching Star Trek The Next Generation in order from the first season. (Mike and I are in the middle of season 3, I believe)
7. I have been known to stare at Jordan for hours on end, even if she isn’t doing anything.
6. I can still sing the entire theme song to both Animaniacs, and Tiny Toon Adventures.
5. I watched The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on Disney Channel the other day. (And Cheryl Burke, Ashley DelGrosso, and Louis Van Amstell (From Dancing with the Stars) were guest stars… yet that wasn’t why I had it on in the first place…)
4. I can burp really loud. (Ok, so that’s not news to my family, or some of my close friends…)
3. I have an addiction… I’m addicted to stitchery kits/craft projects. I buy them by the score, and actually work on them (Sometimes even finishing them!)
2. I have a very stretchy face and can make very odd faces.
1. I can polish off a bag of Kraft Caramels in 2 days. And a box of Mac and Cheese in 1 sitting. (And I have… recently…)
So there they are, as uninteresting as they are! ![]()
And I tag…. Veronica, Lucinda (even though I can’t get to her blog), Jeff, and Kiersten!
Jordan had her 2 month check up today (and she’s 9 weeks old today!) and she had gained 3 pounds since her last visit, and grown 2 inches! So she now is 11 pounds even, and is 22 inches long. She had her head measured, too, and she’s in the 50th percentile for head size, 50th percentile for weight, and the 40th percentile for height- is anyone surprised? Imagine, us with a short kid!
It’s shocking really.
But she was checked out by the doctor, and Dr. Lee says that everything looks great, and we can up the dosage for Zantac. Hopefully she will continue to improve with that. She’s not crying as much, but still is spitting up a lot. Her tear duct is also still clogged, so we are to continue massaging it at least 4 times a day, and doing warm compresses as much as she will take. I’m really hoping it will open on its own, so she doesn’t have to have surgery when she’s 6 months old. She also had 4 shots, the poor girl. So I’m to watch her today to make sure she doesn’t have any sort of rection. Depending on how she’s feeling, we might go to Gymboree this afternoon, but if she’s just sleeping, we may stay home. Her next doctor’s visit will be 4 months old!
Yesterday was our last Infant Massage class, so that was kind of sad. But we did get a picture of the kids in the class, minus one- Mattea wasn’t there.

Jordan is 2 months old today. I just can’t believe how time is flying!! I have some pcitures to upload of her from the past few days, which I will do soon. She’s been really good with her naps lately, but hasn’t quite gotten the night time routine down yet. We went to Gymboree today, and she seemed to have a good time, but I woke her up from a nap to go, so she wasn’t too happy with me. She managed to stay awake during the class, but fell asleep before we ever got up from the mat. She seems to be making friends with some of the other kids, which is pretty cool. She was especially interested in a little boy named Preston who will be 6 months old very soon. She’s going for the older men. Preston’s newest trick is rolling over, so he was showing off for Jordan. As for Jordan’s new “tricks”- she has now discovered her hands to suck on. She seems to favor the right hand currently, but I have seen her a few times with the left one in her mouth, too, so there’s a chance she’ll be a lefty yet, though Mike and I are both right handed, so probably not. One of the mothers at Gymboree I found out lives very near me- less than 5 min away, but she’s moving up to the next level, as her daughter is now sitting up on her own, and is almost 6 months old, so she’s on to Gymboree level 2!
I thought that maybe I had found a new friend to hang out with, but I won’t see her much anymore. Maybe I’ll see her between classes, or something. Anyway, that’s about it from here!
