Our little super star
I couldn’t resist buying these sunglasses. This is the 3rd pair I’ve purchased for her, but the only pair that fits currently. We had fun on Saturday having her wear them to Gymboree class.
I do believe my 6 month old daughter has a crush on a celeb… The lucky recipient? Corbin Bleu

Today we experienced Saturday Gymboree. There are a lot more dads there, since most of them are off work. It’s pretty cool. So anyway, she is loving Level 2 gym. Lots of fun and activity! She was in a fussy mood this morning, but as soon as we got to Gymboree, she was all smiles. And she fell asleep on her way home. With the ear of her giraffe in her mouth.
*Insert cute photo of Jordan in her Valentine outfit here*
Well, we didn’t get very good pictures of Jordan today in her cute new Valentiney shirt, so you’ll just have to imagine how cute she looked!
We are finally feeling better, at least Jordan and I… Mike seems to be getting a little bit sicker.
We did go to Gymboree yesterday- it was good to finally get out of the house again! We are also going to try Level 2 tomorrow! There are 2 other babies very close to her age at Gymboree, and we’ve all been waiting to try out the new level together, so tomorrow’s the day! We shall see how we like it! I really think Jordan’s ready for that class- she’s been sitting well since Christmas, and is quite proficient at scooting/creeping/rolling, so I think she will be fine. She can also pull herself up fairly well, and that’s the milestone for level 3!! Eeek! Still no teeth, but she’s been biting everything in sight the past couple of days, so that may not be too far off. Today for V-day Mike and I were going to go out for dinner to the Cheesecake Factory, but they weren’t taking reservations, so we thought we’d go for early dinner at 5… evidently so did everyone else! The wait to ask how long the wait was was 10 minutes!! And the wait for a table was 55-70 min!! Eeek! So instead we picked up Papa John’s on the way home and ate in front of the TV watching Dr. Phil. I never watch that show, but was intrigued today, and we watched the first 20 minutes or so, but then popped in Monday’s “How I Met Your Mother” (That’s practically the only way I can get a full tv show watched) on DVD, then made it a “double feature” and watched Heroes as well! I like how some of the networks are putting their shows up on their websites for download. For us who don’t have Tivo, it’s a nice option!
Well, the little one is asleep for now, and I’m exhausted, so I think I’ll hit the sack and see if I can at least get an hour of sleep before Jordan needs me again!
I will leave you with some cute pics taken yesterday:
Well, I went to the doctor today, and found out I have a double ear infection! Yuck. I thought my ears were feeling weird. So now I’m on antibiotic for that twice a day, Jordan’s on antibiotic once a day, and Zantac twice a day, and Spats is on medicine twice a day! Whew!! As for the cold part of my sickness, I can’t take anything for it because I’m still nursing. Joy. So my head will continue to feel like it’s going to explode until this sickness decides to leave me. Though I do feel some better tonight. I was allowed to take Robitussin, so maybe tonight I will actually sleep if my nose decides to unplug enough so I can breathe. I’m thinking Gymboree probably won’t happen tomorrow, but we shall see. Maybe I will magically feel better enough to go. I think Jordan’s well enough, it’s just me now! Well, I’m off to bed before Jordan wakes up!!
Well, the sickness continues! Mike also came down with it and was home sick Thursday as well! He was beter, but I was worse on Friday, so he stayed home that day, too so I could get a nap. Jordan seems to be some better, but I can’t seem to shake it, and now I’m wondering if I have an ear infection, too! I’m going to try to find a new doctor to see hopefully on Monday to make sure everything is okay. It’s just really got me good, and I can’t exactly get extra rest right now! I know what you’re thinking- “Don’t you know that Moms aren’t allowed to get sick?” Evidently not.
While we’ve been in, we did manage to watch the entire first season of “How I Met Your Mother” on DVD, and then Mike managed to find the current season on-line, so we are now caught up to the latest episode. My sister in Law got me hooked on that show over Christmas. In addition to that, we’ve been watching other random DVDs, and I’ve played a little bit of a video game I got for Christmas, too!
We had to skip out on Gymboree on Thursday, and we missed Baby Signs on Friday, and missed church today. Hopefully we’ll be better for Gymboree on Thursday, if we can’t make it Tuesday. (I’m guessing we won’t.) Yesterday we went on our first outing since her doctor’s appointment- a trip to the vet for Spats, our 3 1/2 year old cat. He had been yakking-up all over the carpet, so I thought we should get it checked out. After an x-ray, and a couple of shots, he was sent home with us with some bland food to try for a few days, and a medicine to give him every 12 hours. Giving medicine to a cat is not the most fun thing I’ve ever done, let me tell you! He seems to be some better today, but is boycotting the new food, and instead is trying to get anywhere he isn’t supposed to be to get my attention. So if I’m not chasing a cat off the kitchen counters and table, or telling him to stop clawing at our bedroom door, I’m trying to comfort Jordan who is crying more since she doesn’t feel good, and in my spare time I’m blowing my nose and trying to get my ears to open! The fun never ends! Well, I’d better get back to it- little one needs me again!
Well, after a crazy day yesterday, we’re both home sick.
We seem to have caught some kind of cold between yesterday and this morning. Yesterday we went to Gymboree, and then a quick trip to Target before heading to the pediatrician. Jordan is in the 75th percentile for both weight and height, and the doctor seemed very pleased! I asked if she was possibly getting a little too chubby, and she said no, since her weight and height are even!
Yeah! She basically said keep on doing what I’m doing! She now weighs 17 lbs, 1 3/4 oz. and is 26 3/4 inches long. Whee! Unfortunatly she has another ear infection as well! Poor thing. So she got 4 more shots, had to have her ears cleaned out cuz they are soooo waxy, has an ear infection, and has now come down with a cold. She had a slight fever this morning, so I’ve been giving her Tylenol, in addition to her antibiotics, and oh yeah- we’re back on Zantac! :S The doctor thought that it might help her gas/not sleeping issues to get back on the Zantac, so we’re giving that a whirl. I told the doctor about the nights that she actually slept through the night, and she thinks that the ear infection brought on the lack of sleeping, possibly in conjunction with the gas issues. She also said that I probably need to start being more of a “call the doctor at the drop of a hat” kind of mom. Jordan is such a happy baby that when she’s fussy I just take it to be “normal baby fussiness”, but the doctor said that Jordan doesn’t seem to be much of a complainer, so if I think she’s being slightly more fussy than normal, I should probably bring her in. Especially since she’s had 2 ear infections in the past 3 months.
In other news I got to have lunch with my buddies from work on Monday, which was very much fun! I got a couple of pictures of a friend’s baby with Jordan- very cute. I’ll have to upload those at some point, but not now. Jordan’s actually taking a nap, and has been for about 2 hours so far, and I don’t know how long that will last! Plus I’m not feeling well myself, so I’m going to crash on the couch for the remainder of her nap!
PS- I don’t think I mentioned this before, but Jordan can now pull herself up to a standing position from sitting, and occationally from laying down. I’ve caught her standing holding on to her jumper (not playing in her jumper, but on the floor next to it), and she’s been almost standing in her crib when I came in after a nap! (This started Tuesday 1/30)
I can’t believe it but the calendar says it’s true! Jordan is 6 months old today!! she is growing so fast I wish I could capture each moment and remember it forever! She is scooting quite well, though she is still going backwards or in circles. Very cute, but it frustrates her no end! Poor thing. I’m none too anxious for her to crawl, because we are still looking for a new place that would be better than where we are now. We either need a storage unit, or another room. I’m hoping for another room, but we shall see. There isn’t a whole lot to report from here- oh we did go to Baby Signs yesterday, and learned 6 more signs. The theme was bedtime, so we learned moon, stars, book, sleep, light, and love. So here are some pics of the cutie at 6 months!
