Back to the books
Well, I think it’s time for me to re-read The No-Cry Sleep Solution again… Last night Jordan was up 5 times and would only be consoled by food. I thought she may be going through a growth spurt, but I don’t think they are supposed to last 2 weeks. She’s eating every 2-3 1/2 hours throughout the day- AND NIGHT! Plus she’s eating solids, too! I’m also having trouble getting her to nap, so I guess it’s back to the drawing board. I’ve been doing pretty well with a sleep routine, and I can get her to sleep with no trouble- and sometimes she’s even putting herself to sleep in her crib, though most of the time I feed her into a stooper. But she’s only staying asleep 6 hours max, and usually closer to 2-3 hours. Mama needs her sleep! Today she took a 2 hour nap from 4-6pm on my lap, so she didn’t want to go to bed tonight. In fact I hear her playing right now. But she’s not making any noise other than the toys rustling, so maybe there’s hope.
She’s also having feeding issues. Not nursing issues, just solids. She’ll eat maybe a 3rd of a jar of baby food, a few puffs, and then she’s crying and whipping her head from side to side. She tried peas for the first time tonight, and I must say that this is the first food I have given her that I haven’t tasted first. The smell was enough for me. I am not a fan of the peas. Jordan however didn’t even make a face, and opened her mouth for quite a few bites. I’m really wondering though if I should start her on the chunkier foods. She’s not really liking this liquidy food. I guess I have to read my food book, too! She seems to like the idea of finger foods, and will even grab the spoon out of my hand and feed herself, though sloppily. I’m thinking that if I cooked some carrots to be really soft and cut them up in tiny pieces that she would eat that up! But now I have a cupboard full for Gerber 2nd foods that she doesn’t really eat well, except for the sweet potatoes. Who knows. Judging from her thighs and wrists, she is not lacking for food!
I love my fat baby! Maybe I can get some of the pictures uploaded soon- there are some really cute ones that I’ve taken lately, but I haven’t been able to get them on the site yet. Well, the playing is over- she’s crying for me now. *sigh* And the night begins…

The cooked carrots thing is totally the way to go. It’s how I’ve been feeding Clark lately. We do it with everything from sweet potatos to green beens. Do they sell baby crackers in the US? I make a puree dip and let him dip(well I dip, he holds the cracker) the cracker into pureed spinach or something. They are at about that age.
Ohh, I’ve read the book a lot, I’ve started going to the message boards, they are somewhat helpful. Good luck and hope she sleeps!
