Not much happening.
I haven’t updated in a while, mainly because there’s not much to report. Things are still going great, there have been no new words or signs for a little bit, no more teeth (yeah!), and thankfully no more rolling down the stairs! We did get a call from a lady at our church letting us know that they will be doing baby dedications this Sunday, and they wanted to know if we could make it. I had asked a while back about it since Mike and I wanted to do that, but we hadn’t heard anything, so I kind of gave up on the idea. I guess the other baby (yes, there’s only one, and he’s about 13/14 months by now) can make it on Sunday, so that’s what we’ll be doing! ![]()
Jordan seems to be enjoying level 3 Gymboree, though I do have to really keep an eye on her, mainly because the other children are so much bigger and more mobile, she occasionally gets trampled! Or toys thrown at her, or hit, or pushed, etc. There is one child in particular that has hit her on the head a couple times with toys, or thrown toys at her on purpose. Unfortunately this child’s mother doesn’t seem to want to be “within a hugs reach” of her child (as they are asked to be by the teachers), so I have to be right on top of Jordan when this child is in class. The other kids don’t mean to run her down, it’s just they don’t look at the floor when they are walking/running, and Jordan’s on the floor crawling by, so we have created a few tripping/kicking experiences. We did enjoy Wednesday Gym this week, so that has become our main class, even though it’s during her nap time. She’s been really good about napping lately, which has been great for me! She naps about 2 hours at a time, sometimes more, 2 times a day! And at night, it could be anything from 6 hours straight without waking, to awake every 2 hours wanting to eat. Actually that was just for 2 nights, so it may have been a growth spurt. The past 2 nights she has only awakened 1-2 times. That I can handle! ![]()
Yesterday we met up with a friend from Gymboree at the park, and Jordan actually stood on her own for about 5 seconds. This was right before she decided to climb up the front of her stroller. She made it all the way up to the tray on her hands and knees before I removed her, and sat her inside. I guess she wanted to go for a walk! We have been doing a lot of walking lately. A little bit each day. Sometimes she’s awake for it, and other times she’s sleeping, but it’s doing 2 things for me- getting me some exercise, and getting me a bit of a tan!
I did start back at Curves this week- first time back since the sprained ankle. It hasn’t bothered me, so I guess I’m healed! Yeah!
Starting in July I’ll be watching a friend’s baby on Mondays with Jordan. Should be fun! It will certainly keep me on my toes! The mom’s a school teacher, and goes back in August part time, so we’re starting in July to get everyone used to the idea. Jordan and Zoe (the girl I’ll be watching) are only 4 1/2 months apart, so very soon they will seem like the same age. It’s just right now Jordan’s cruising, and Zoe’s sitting up, but in a few months Zoe will probably be crawling. Of course, by then Jordan might be walking- who knows!
Well, I feel like I’ve written so much, yet not said much of importance. Oh well. I’m enjoying my afternoon while Jordan’s sleeping in her swing. She was getting kind of mellow, so I put her in there for a bit, and she fell asleep! She hasn’t napped in her swing in a long time. I’ll be sad when she’s too big for it. I think we’ll have a little while, though, because it holds kids up to 25 pounds, and according to our home scale Jordan is 18 pounds. Of course it is a bit off from the Curves scale. At Curves I weigh about 2 pounds heavier than I do at home. No fair. But Jordan was 18.5 according to the home scale at 9 months when she weighed in just above 18 1/2, as I recall. Guess we’ll find out at her one year appointment in August! I can’t believe she’ll be a year in less than 2 months! Crazy!

Glad to hear that things are going well…even if there isn’t much is going on!
Please join me in the reading! It’s been great so far (only 1 week). I’m really enjoying it, and it only takes 20-30 minutes! I feel like I’ve been spending so much time on bits and pieces recently, that I’m really excited about focusing on “the big picture” for a change!
