The reason we didn’t go to Gymboree

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 10:51 pm

When I went in to her room today to get her up for Gymboree, this is what I found, and I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics. She usually wakes up when I open the door, but she didn’t today. I figured she needed her rest.
Instead we played at home today and ran a few errands. Here’re some highlights from playing at home:

This is what happens when you ask her to be a monkey. No sound goes with it yet, just this face:

I bought a doll a while back that is about the same size Jordan was at birth, and I dressed it in one of her old sleepers as kind of a reminder for me of how little she used to be. Jordan has really taken a liking to this “baby”, and frequently plays with it. Here’s what I captured tonight before bed:

I can’t believe it, but she’s 51 weeks old today! I am almost done counting weeks! And another tooth has broken through. The top left lateral incisor! She’s still working on the right one. I can see it, but it’s not quite out yet. Maybe it will be in another couple days.

Nap time

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 1:46 pm

Well, Jordan’s taking a nap, so I thought I’d post. I don’t have much to report, but we are in full planning mode for Jordan’s upcoming “soire’e”. I have taken pictures, but I haven’t gotten them posted in a while. I didn’t get very good pictures for one of her weekly photos because I dropped my camera at Gymboree, and the battery compartment latch broke. So every time I went to take a picture I had to hold the battery in place so it would work. And Duct Tape didn’t help. So Mike for an early anniversary present gave me a new camera. This one is cool because the display is much bigger, it’s a 10 mega pixel instead of 5 like my old one, and it doesn’t turn on in the case by itself. Plus it works with my software and printer since it’s still a Kodak EasyShare. Now if I can just figure out how to get the plate off the printer so I can put the new one on to connect the new camera!
Jordan is still working on those top 2 teeth, but the one on the bottom left has come in quite nicely. It’s about half the size of the 2 middle ones. Well, I hear the little one (who has only been asleep for 20 minutes!) so I guess my time is up for now. Hopefully I can convince her to finish her nap, or at the least take one this afternoon! I’ll upload the pics when I get a chance!

Let Sleeping Babies Lie!

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 4:59 pm

Jordan has been a champ these days at sleeping- of course as soon as I post this she’ll stop sleeping all together, I’m sure. :) But she’s slept for 7-8 1/2 hours stretches at night the past 2 nights, and she’s still taking at least one 2 hour nap, and another nap of about an hour, sometimes more. So I’ve been able to get some stuff done around the house. And get some napping in myself! I’m still trying to go to Curves at least 3 days a week, though that’s tough since I have to go before Mike goes to work, and he’s been trying to go in earlier these days. But it is working, because at my July weigh-in, I had lost 4 pounds, and dropped some inches from my hips and waist, too! :) Whee! I haven’t met my goal of being within 5-10 pounds of my pre=pregnancy weight quite yet, but I just might get there by Jordan’s first birthday! Yippee!
Party-planning is in full-swing, and I’ve been trying to get all the little things in order for that. I can’t believe it’s coming up in just over 2 weeks! Yikes!
I have lots of photos that need to go up on the site, but I’m not sure I’ll get that done this afternoon, as I still have laundry to attend to.
In other Jordan news, she has cut another tooth! The one on the bottom actually poked through last night, and the two on top are so close I can see them, but they haven’t popped through quite yet. Jordan was awake for a hour last night from 1-2am being a bit clingy, so I’m guessing her teeth were hurting her then, and possibly she was recalling her traumatic trip to the doctor’s office for the re-check of her ear infection. It was all cleared up, but she really didn’t enjoy her time as they had to scoop out her ears again. Poor girl. She now cries as soon as someone comes in the room- even the nurse this time. And she cried to have her temperature taken since they take it in her ear. And just think, in a couple weeks we’ll be going back for the big shots! I am waiting until after all of her birthday festivities to take her in just in case she has a reaction to the shots. Well, the laundry is calling!

Even more “teefers”

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 5:23 pm

Well, after a tickle war this afternoon I have discovered that Jordan is teething again… and seems to be getting 3 teeth at once… again… The top 2 on the outside of the 2 front teeth, and the bottom left next to the middle teeth. I guess Jordan’s built upside down, cuz her top teeth look closer to the surface than the bottom one. So she will probably have 7 teeth by her first birthday! I had 6 teeth by 12 months, so she and I are pretty close. I’m just not looking forward to when all 3 of those teeth break through. The last time was not very much fun as all 3 broke through in one night, and I think we’re headed for more of the same. Poor Jordan.

48 Weeks Old!

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 10:43 am

Jordan is 48 weeks old today! I am almost done counting the weeks! And my week-by-week photo project is coming along quite nicely! :) I think it will be close to done by her first birthday! :) I’m working on a Shutterfly album that will have 1 picture from each week throughout her first year. Should be cool when I finish it! :) In other news, I got a new haircut… again. I’m still trying to grow it out, so basically the only thing that’s new is the back of it is shorter. Here it is:

The bangs are taking forever to grow out, so I can still comb them forward, they’re just a bit long.
I didn’t take hardly any pictures yesterday, so here’s the only one that really turned out.

Her dress was so cute, but she wasn’t in a very good mood when I took the picture, and she wanted the camera herself, so she didn’t want to pose. Oh well.
Oh, and at the doctor’s office on Monday she said a new word- “fish”. And here she is with them:

I also uploaded all the photos that I’ve been taking lately, so check out the gallery for all the others.

Happy 4th!

Filed under: General, Jordan Aleene — mayzaboo @ 7:12 pm

Jordan is napping, and we just returned from a get together at a friend’s house. Mike stayed so he could play with their Wii (Nintendo game console) but Jordan needed a nap, so us girls headed home. I feel like I need a nap, too, but I don’t think I’ll get one. There’s not a whole lot to report here, but Jordan did turn 11 months yesterday! I can’t believe she’s almost a year old! Oh, and she has yet another ear infection! We ended up at the Dr. on Monday because she just seemed a bit off to me, and sure enough, an ear infection. So now she’s back on Dimatap 2-3 times a day, and an antibiotic twice a day. Poor little thing. She doesn’t seem to be sick other than her sleeping pattern, or lack thereof. We did get a weight on her at this visit, though. People at Gymboree keep saying that she has to be over 20 pounds because she’s so chubby, and she shouldn’t be in her car seat carrier anymore because she’s too heavy for it. I kept saying I think she’s still pretty close to the same weight she was at 9 months. Well, I was right! She’s actually lost 2 ounces since then and weighed in at 18lbs, 7 oz! So that would be why she can still wear all her 6-9 month clothes, and a lot of the 12 month stuff seems big on her. She may be able to wear the dress I got her for Christmas afterall! I bought her a 12 month size dress last year on a major sale, and was hoping that she would fit into it, and we just might be able to use it for our Christmas photo that we will take in November! :) Of course that is about 4 1/2 months away, but we shall see. Anyway, that’s about it from here. I do have photos to upload, but the sun is coming through the window right in my eyes right now (and there is no way to cover the window), so it’s time to go do something else! :)
