And I’m talking about me, not Jordan!
So a few days ago I posted my lovely first attempt at knitting- the fish. The second attempt was supposed to be a ball, and it ended up looking more like a taco. Then I tried to teach myself how to knit in the round with 4 needles so I could try to make a “Bob” Well, Jordan has taken my 4th needle, and I can’t find it. So I still haven’t knit anything else. Then I started looking online for free crochet patterns for toys, and found a really cute snake pattern that called for the same yarn that I had just bought (camouflage yarn- how cool is that?) so I thought I’d try it. I made it 2 steps into the pattern, and gave up. I decided to create my own pattern. Here is what I ended up with:

I’m pretty proud of myself, especially since I’ve never made anything 3D until this! (Unless you count hats) Jordan seems to enjoy him as well. We still need to name him. I found another free pattern for a teddy bear and about 4 different patterns for clothes. We’ll see if I can follow those directions.

Just a quick post before I head to bed, but I thought I’d post my accomplishment. I was “weighed and measured” today at Curves, and here’s the result:
1 year, and 2 weeks ago I weighed 146 lbs. Jordan was born the next day, and between then and May 7, I made it down to 131 lbs. Then I joined Curves. As of today I have lost 7 pounds since starting curves which puts me down to 124- 10 lbs up from my pre-pregnancy weight, and since I’m still breastfeeding, I don’t feel too bad about keeping around a few extra pounds. I would like to get down to 119/120, and then when I stop breastfeeding I expect to lose the last few pounds. My original goal was to get to within 5-10 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight by Jordan’s first birthday, and I’ve pretty much done it, even though it’s 2 weeks after. Anyway, I also have lost 3.30% body fat since May, and 9 total inches from hips/waist/bust/thighs/arms, etc. Whee!! I’m shrinking!!

For Jordan’s birthday they gave her some darling clothes, and today she was wearing one of them, so I took her outside to take some pictures in the grass. Here is the result. I won’t type much as So You Think You Can Dance is on, and I must watch!!

On August 13, Mike and I celebrated 2 years of marriage! Hard to believe, but it’s true! I was going to write a big long post about what has happened in these 2 years, but y’all pretty much know the highlights. and I have a little girl running about who is getting quite good at taking steps on her own!! So I have to make sure she’s not getting into things that she isn’t supposed to. Anyway, I just didn’t want to ignore the fact that we had an anniversary! We went out to Panda Inn, where Mike proposed, and where we had our rehearsal dinner. It was very yummy, and very much fun. Jordan was a total champ at dinner, and behaved perfectly. She even ate some Lo-mein and had a little bite of cashew chicken. And she had a bite of fortune cookie, too. She did however take a noodle and put it in her mouth, with both ends hanging out, and started shaking her head violently from side to side. If she had been any older I would have stopped her, but at a year it was so adorable that I couldn’t resist. I tried to get a pic of it, but none of them turned out.

My friend Stephanie posted a picture of a really cute pattern for knitting the other day, and that has inspired me to learn how to knit! So last night I pulled out a kit I had purchased a while back, and went to work. The result?

It’s a cat toy kit, so there’s a mouse and a ball as well that I will try to make. We shall see how it goes, but it’s not too bad for a first attempt!

On Saturday we went to another birthday party for a friend at Gymboree, Brian. He seemed to enjoy his cake:

We had a wonderful birthday weekend, but it sure was a busy one! My parents came down on Friday night and Mom and I were in the kitchen until 1am!! Mom made finger jell-o for the party, and I was baking and icing cupcakes. We had a good time!

Saturday was Jordan’s party, and our friend Marie came over at 7am to help us transport the party stuff to the park, then my dad helped put up all the decorations, blow up balloons, and then babysat our spot until party time! The party was a huge success, and was quite fun. There are a ton of pics up in the gallery from the party, but here are some highlights:

We had a great time, and then we took my parents to Build-a-Bear where they built Autumn Jack and Miss Kitty:

Kitty has a bow- somewhere… Yesterday Jordan took it off, and now I’m not sure where it is. I may find it in the laundry because Jordan was “helping” me this morning when I was sorting. Anyway, yesterday was Jordan’s 1 year doctor’s appointment, and she now is 19 lbs, 3 oz, and 29 inches long. She’s in the 50th percentile for height and head circumference and 20th percentile for weight, but the doctor said that’s normal for her age. Since she’s so much more active now, she’s thinned out a bit. She still has chubby legs, but not as chubby as they used to be. We’ve been given the go-ahead to give her whole milk, so she tried some last night. Wasn’t too fond of it, but she did try a couple of sips. She still likes Mama’s milk the best, but she’s eating almost anything I put in front of her. Well, she tries almost anything. Once she’s had a bite, sometimes she doesn’t try any more, but she will at least give it a fair shake. She had her shots yesterday- 2 of them, since they now combine the chicken pox one, and the MMR, then she had a TB test, and had to have 2 vials of blood taken from her arm. I was thinking it was going to be another heel prick, but this time it was just like they do for adults. She screamed bloody murder the whole time she was being examined, weighed, measured, given shots, and getting blood taken, the poor thing. She woke up a lot last night, too. The doctor says it’s probably teething, since she’s got one trying to break through still up top. I thought it had broken through, but I guess not. It’s jut very close. Also she said that Jordan’s gums are swollen where her molars will come in as well, so I guess that’s not too far off. Luckily she gets her teeth in bunches, or at least has so far. So that’s the update from here!

Jordan got her first Birthday card yesterday from Geen (my grandmother). I took some pics of her looking at it.

There were cat stickers on the outside of the envelope, and Jordan started signing cat! So now she can sign quite a few things, though many of the signs are her own special sign.

Drink- uses her first finger to her lips and tips her head back
Cat- wipes her face from side to side
Dog- does the sign for Frog
Bubble- opens and closes her fists alternately with her arms in the air, usually looking up in the air
Monkey- puts her mouth in an “oo” shape

She’s also been pointing to her head when she bumps it, or any other body part almost as if to say “kiss it here”. It’s very cute. Well, Jordan’s napping, so I’d better go get more stuff done for this party coming up!
