I can’t believe how quickly November went by!! Yikes! We leave for Kentucky 3 weeks from Monday! I haven’t even really thought about what we’re going to bring with us, and we’re staying for 2 weeks! We’ll be staying part of the time at my brother’s house in Lexington, and also some time at my grandmother’s house in Louisville. It should be a fun trip, if I can just get myself organized to actually get there!
Well, let’s see- what’s been going on here? My folks were down here for Thanksgiving which was very much fun. I baked my first honey pumpkin pie, which happened to be my first pie baking experience ever. I forgot to take pictures of it, but it actually turned out quite good! I also “cooked” the whole meal, which consisted of canned green beans, turkey that I heated from the Honeybaked ham store, a box of stove top stuffing, mashed potatoes from potato buds, crescent rolls from a can, canned gravy, a corn casserole which I made from scratch, and yam casserole which I also made (from canned yams, but hey, I made the casserole!), and then the pie for dessert. I also made chocolate chip pumpkin muffins from scratch. Jordan had a good time visiting with “Gigi and G-pa”, or “Papa” as she has been saying lately. Though yesterday I’m pretty sure she actually said “G-pa”.
Lately we’ve been working on the family members names since we’ll be seeing them soon. She now can say Clifton “Ciffon”, though sometimes she says “Mimi”, and I don’t know where that came from. She says Geen “Gee”, Margaret “Mar-et”, Emery “Emmy”, and Mallory “Mah-ry”. I assume by the end of her trip to Kentucky we will also add Oreo, Lucy and Presto to the list (My brother’s cats). She can identify our cats and rabbit as well. She can say “Boo”, Spats “Sats”, Midnight “Mee nigh”, and Stormy “Soory”, though she doesn’t always correctly identify them, but then again, neither do I! That’s what happens when you have an all black cat, and another that’s mostly black with some white.
On Monday night I started feeling like I was getting sick with a sore throat, and by Tuesday morning I was feeling awful. I called in to work on Tuesday night, and stayed in all day, then Wednesday woke up with a CRAZY sore throat, and thought I might have strep, so I saw the Dr., and sure enough! I’ve been on meds since Wednesday, and I haven’t been out of the house since Wed night. I decided to go to the Master’s College Christmas concert since we had already paid for our tickets, even though I had strep. After 2 rounds of the meds I was feeling a lot better, which unfortunately didn’t last. I stayed home from work on Thursday, and didn’t go to the work Christmas party on Friday night, and then decided to call in today, too, just to be sure I got better. I’ll be returning to work on Tuesday, and will work 3 weeks, then have 2 weeks off for Christmas.
Anyway, I’m going to upload all the pics, and will try to highlight a few on here once they are up!
