Ancient Chinese Secret

Filed under: General, Pets — Karnblack @ 4:07 pm

I was talking to my wife the other day about the time Jackie Chan hosted SNL, and I told her that I thought that the Calgon commercial spoof was the funniest skit. She looked at me with a blank stare so I said the “Ancient Chinese Secret” one, and she still had a blank stare. Well I found the original commercial from the 70s (maybe that’s why she has never seen the commercial) and the Jackie Chan SNL parody on YouTube. Check them out (it’s best to watch the original first):

Earth Day “celebration”

Filed under: General — mayzaboo @ 6:55 pm

So yesterday was Earth Day, and I decided to “celebrate, or at least “observe” it in some way. I headed to Target with Jordan after Gymboree and picked up a bunch of new compact florescent light bulbs, and while she was taking one of her crazy long naps, I changed out almost every single light bulb in our house, so I guess that’s a good thing. Now I’m just trying to get used to the difference in color, and the fact that it takes a while for them to turn on once I flip the switch. But now we are “green-er” I guess. So yeah! I have some pictures to post once I get them organized, but I haven’t been on the computer much recently. Anyhoo, time for dinner! :)

I think I have an addiction…

Filed under: General, craft projects — mayzaboo @ 11:17 am

I just went through all my craft projects and photographed them all. And I believe I do have an addiction…
These are the projects I haven’t started yet:

These are projects that have been started, but not yet completed:
Needlepoint cat pillow I bought while pregnant with Jordan, counted cross stitch “Starry Night” I bought in the summer of 1998, stamped cross stitch baby quilt that Geen started and I’m trying to finish

Stamped and counted cross stitch kits I inherited from my mom and Geen

Jordan’s birth sampler that my mom bought for me a few days before Jordan was born. This is the one I’m actually working on right now.

Latch hook Eeyore I bought when I was pregnant with Jordan, or she was newborn, I can’t remember.

3-D Latch Hook Duck I bought on sale after Christmas in Ky.

Pixel blanket for Mike

I guess the good news is that I do actually finish projects. Here are some that have been completed recently:
Crochet hats that I was trying out- one’s a Rastafarian hat, and the other are more like baseball cap style.

My first beading project (unless you count the beaded fringe I made for the hem of a ballroom costume)

My first attempt at punch needle

So yes, I have a problem. But I love doing crafts! I’m also thinking about making a crochet blanket for Jordan’s big girl room with butterflies on it. And my mom is going to hire me to make some blankets for their house as well. I love doing these things, and I think I thrive on having multiple projects at the same time. I like to be able to switch between different types of projects- cross stitch, latch hook, needlepoint, crochet, etc. It’s fun. :) So there’s a window into the craziness that is me! :)

Jordan eating ramen

After eating about half the container of Yoplait Jordan asked to have some noodles. That usually means she wants ramen.

Jordan just woke up from her nap, and she was hungry. Of course she didn’t want to eat the vanilla yogurt that she already opened this morning. Instead she wanted the strawberry yogurt.

Jordan drinking mama’s water

Jordan decided to take it upon herself to drink some water from one of Maren’s water bottles that was sitting around, and she almost finished it.
